John M. Kinder

John M. Kinder is a Professor of History at Oklahoma State University, where he is director of the American Studies Program. He is the author of "Paying with Their Bodies: American War and the Problem of the Disabled Veteran" and "World War Zoos: Humans and Other Animals in the Deadliest Conflict of the Modern Era." He co-edited "Service Denied: Marginalized Veterans in Modern American History" and "'They Are Dead and Yet They Live': Civil War Memory in a Polarized America," forthcoming in 2025/2026.
